My friend Dunstan Bruce stops by to chat about his time in Chumbawamba as well as his experience as a filmmaker and creative icon. We talk about how Chumbawamba may have been the last anarchist band with anti-consumerist messages in their music to be signed to a corporate label! While some of their original fans were upset when they signed, they still used their platform for good by protesting and giving away large amounts of time, money and energy into important causes. We also discuss the politics in the UK and the unfortunate decline of sanity in the western world.
Dunstan Bruce was founding member of the band but also went on to make a documentary film about Chumbawamba called I GET KNOCKED DOWN and is currently touring Europe with his one man show AM I INVISIBLE YET?!
This is a hilarious and fun conversation with a brilliant and creative human being!

Am I Invisible Yet?
https://www.aiiy.co.uk/Former Chumbawamba vocalist Dunstan Bruce performs his new 1-hour play; a rollercoaster of despair, anger, love and ultimately hope. Join him on this riotous journey that will resonate with anyone who once thought they could change the world, and is still determined to get back up again.

In this personal and irreverent 1-man show Dunstan Bruce, ex-frontman with chart-topping band Chumbawamba, takes the audience on an existential voyage told through poetry, prose, music and projection.
‘Am I Invisible Yet?’ is no cozy fireside chat reminiscing about his Tubthumping past – it’s a vital blast of angst, anger and despair. It is Theatre du Coeur, a love letter to hope, humanity and the haphazard heart.Feeling increasingly invisible, impotent and apoplectic in today’s world, wondering if we’re all going to hell in a handcart, Dunstan gives us a piece of performance poetry and physical theatre that rages and ranges across angst and despair, comedy and delight, middle-aged dissolution and disillusion.
Fuelled with a whisky drink, a vodka drink, a cider drink and a lager drink, and with a love for the new generation of artists and activists, maybe, just maybe, if we do the things we’re most afraid of, perhaps we can still get back up again…..

Traveling and surviving like barnacles on the hull of society is undoubtedly a hard and depressing journey but adversity always yields the most amazing and hilarious stories.
