My friend Stephen E. Kauffman drops by to tell us a brief history on social welfare and the importance of social safety nets. We discuss the psychology of some conservative selfish minded people and the scientific studies that seem to signify a correlation between having an excess of wealth and having a lack of empathy for others. We also discuss the groups who are marginalized in our current form of unfettered capitalism. This is an enlightening conversation with a brilliant human being!
