My friend Pitasanna Shanmugathas stops by to talk about Canada and its foreign policy. Pitasanna has created an incredible documentary series that uncovers the ugly link between Canada, their business interests and the imperialist nature of Canada. We discuss Canada’s role in horrendous atrocities and support of violence in Vietnam, Haiti, Afghanistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Israel, South Africa and many more. This is a fantastic documentary series that is available for free. This is an eye-opening conversation with a bright and inspiring human being.

Pitasanna Shanmugathas was born and raised in Canada. Pitasanna’s interest in foreign policy first came from reading the works of progressive thinkers such as Noam Chomsky and Yves Engler. While completing his post-graduate education at the University of Toronto in global affairs, Pitasanna decided to embark on a three year documentary journey starting in 2019 to explore the role of Canada’s foreign policy in the international arena. Pitasanna has also worked in multiple organizations advocating for peace and disarmament.
This documentary series, Truth to the Powerless: An Investigation into Canada’s Foreign Policy, is a non-profit initiative intended to be accessible as an educational resource to Canadians and people around the world for free. This also means that the creators of the project do not personally make any money out of it. However, to maintain this website, and to promote our docuseries, it is very costly. If you found this documentary series informative, please consider donating by clicking the donate button below. 100% of the donations will go towards costs and expenses associated with hosting the documentary series on this website. The more donations we get the longer our production company, Truth to Powerless, can likely afford to host the content of the docuseries so that it can educate as many people as possible regarding the true nature of Canada’s foreign policy.
Thank you!
